Good Music, Good Friends, and Great Food!

The picture of the final product, but there are a number of volunteers and sponsors that must be thanked without whose support this would not be possible. The following is a behind the scenes look at the time and effort put forth to make Christmas Dinner 2005 a huge success.

First you have to peel the potatoes. There are a lot of people who are coming so there are a lot of potatoes that need to be peeled, so Joanna Sanders peels, Steven Bobiash peels, Wayne Kuntz peels, Jen Eyolfson peels, Marina Rist peels, Sue Lake and her daughter, Paige, peel, Lorna and Donna Standingready peel, Heather McInnis peels, Aaron Sklar peels, and we peel...

...and peel...

     ...and peel...

             ...and peel...

                       ...and peel...

                       ...and peel...

                          ...and peel...

...mix a little meat, then maybe peel a little more.

The day of the event, a number of volunteers begin to congregate at the friendship centre. Here, past president Brian Sklar welcomes volunteers (right) Warren McCall (MLA Regina-Elphinstone) and Moe Kovatch (Candidate Regina-Lumsden-Lake Centre)

In the kitchen, the volunteers are starting to take their places and determine how we can fill plates the quickest. Henry Ford would be proud of the assembly line that begins to form. A number of volunteers can be seen in these photos, several of whom heard about the meal on the news and came to lend a helping hand.

As the plates are handed around the island in the kitchen, volunteers dish up a heaping helping of potatoes (peeled by hand), meat loaf, ham, corn, and salad. For over two hours these community minded volunteers worked away.

To the left are a number of Kinettes and members of the Regina Indian and Metis Friendship Centre that came out to give us a hand. Above: Garry Sanderson serves up a plate of delicious ham (Drake hams from Fellinger's Red Meat Wagon) with all the trimmings.

Smiling faces, as kids receive a gift bag and a toque from Santa and Ted Cherewyk.

Kids love hugs
on Christmas,
especially from
Santa...

...everyone love
to get hugs
from Santa.

Once it's all over, only the clean-up remains. Moe Kovatch and Jen Eyolfson help put
another successful Christmas Dinner to bed...

...and to all a good night!
