The Youth Suicide Prevention walk passed through Regina in late April on their way to Ottawa. The 2005 trek originated in Cowichan, BC and with great determination and well worn runners concluded in Ottawa on June 21st, National Aboriginal Day. While visiting Regina the eight walkers stayed at Brian's house for the second year and the club's members really appreciated getting to know these exceptional young people.

On the morning of their departure, the Suicide Prevention Walkers had breakfast with the Regina Aboriginal Kin Club.
Upon adjournment of the meeting, and before the walkers continued down the Trans-Canada highway, they shared an Inuit song with our club. Although not all the participants in the walk speak Inuit, the song has been taught phonetically to all the walkers, who now sing it proudly as a group.
Their walk has since been completed and we wish them luck in the spring of 2006, as they set forth to walk their way from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
